James Hillman Jr. Obituary

 James Hillman Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.  He died at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.  James Hillman Jr. was born on January 17, 1961, to James Hillman Sr. and Lela Hillman.  He was the only boy of five children and the son they prayed for.  He was a longtime resident of Springfield.  His family moved here from Monroe, Louisiana, in 1962, for a better opportunity. 

James Jr. had a love for sports in his heart.  His favorite football team was the New England Patriots, and Tom Brady was his favorite football player.  His favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers.  James Jr. was an avid believer in exercising and eating healthy foods.  James Jr. "Loved life" and his family, especially his two daughters, Krissa and Kia.  He loved the outdoors and would often take long walks on Mondays.  James Hillman Jr. was a member of Fresh Anointing Ministries C.O.G.I.C.  He attended local schools and was a graduate of The High School of Commerce from the Class of 1979.  After graduating from high school, James Jr. began his career working at the Marriott Hotel in Springfield.  James Hillman Jr. was always a diligent worker.  He was employed at Callaway Golf Company for a number of years as a Computer Operator.  He was currently employed at CHD as a Residential Counselor with the Department of Youth Services in Springfield. 

 James Hillman was pre-deceased by his loving parents, Lela Hillman and James Hillman Sr.  He leaves two beautiful daughters to cherish his memories, Krissa and Kia;  four sisters, Maria Deck, Helen Hillman, Linda Hillman, and Deborah Hillman;  his nephews, Erick Deck, Darren Hillman, Darryl Richardson, and David Hillman;  his god-daughter and nieces, Heather Hillman, Melanie Samba, April Deck, and Danielle Hillman;  some great nieces and nephews;  his aunt, Mother Carrie Roberson, whom he loved and adored;  his cousins and best friends that he grew up with, Pastor Anthony D. Roberson Sr., Pastor Aaron Roberson, and Deacon John Roberson;  a host of relatives and friends and his former wife, Sabrina Wilson.

 James Hillman Jr. would be truly missed for his unique personality, kind heart, and great sense of humor.  He always wore a smile on his face and had a way of calming people down.  James Hillman Jr. "Celebration of Life Services" will take place on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Fresh Anointing Ministries COGIC.  Viewing is 10:00am-11:00am.  The Celebration of Life Services will begin at 11:00am.  Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family is asking everyone to please wear a face mask because of Covid19
