Janet Eneida Weeks, 59, of Biddle Street, passed over into glory on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Janet was born on November 25, 1963, in Panama City, Panama, Republic of Panama, the beloved daughter of Wilbert Weeks and Louisa Florencia Griffith-Slyfield. She came to Springfield 15 years ago and became a member of Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved to cook for others and showcased those talents of cooking and decorating and singing in the church choir. She also worked at the Raymond Jordan Senior Center and with the Bud Williams State Representative campaign.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Louisa Griffith-Slyfield; eight brothers, Reginald Weeks, Rodney Weeks, Raymond Weeks, Irving Weeks, David Weeks, Gregorio Weeks, Raul Weeks, and Wilbert Weeks Jr.; four sisters, Maxine Weeks, Andrea Weeks, Lucilla Weeks, and Candy Weeks; seven step-sisters, Vita Brown Simpson, Flora Brown, Vivian Smith, Daphne Slyfield, Janet Slyfield Brady, Claudette McIntosh, and Clara Soden; two sisters-in-law, Betty Weeks and Bonnita Weeks; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
The calling hour is 9-10 a.m. Thursday, April 13th, at Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church, 797 State Street, Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services 10a.m.
Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
