John D. Wilson, 92, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2923, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, in Agawam, Massachusetts, surrounded by his family. John was born in Hayneville, Alabama, on November 27, 1930. He was educated in Alabama schools and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was a faithful member of Alden Baptist Church for over 60 years and a dedicated Trustee for over 40 years. John retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft after working there for 38 years. He lived a full retirement for over 30 years. He was a dedicated fisherman for over 50 years. He loved to catch fish but not to clean fish so he always gave the catch of the day away to neighbors and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, William Wilson and Mary (Herbert) Gadsden, his wife, Dorothy (Jenkins) Wilson, his son, Haygood Wilson, his brother, Haygood L. Wilson, and a sister, Dorothy Ann Wilson. He leaves three daughters, Shirley Lee of Montgomery, Alabama, Denise Wilson of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Pamela M. (and Alphonso) Miller of Springfield; two sons, Bryce (and Linda) Wilson of Springfield and Kenneth (and Theresa) Wilson of Cibolo, Texas; three brothers, James (and Ami) Wilson, Carl (and Magdalena) Wilson, and Calvin (and Willa) Wilson of Alabama; three sisters, Juanita Wilson, Katie (and Arthur Jack) Marbury, and Mary Wilson of Alabama; a devoted sister-in-law, Jimmie Wilson; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends to cherish his memories.
