Juddie Lee (Brewer) Broxton, age 104, of Douglasville, GA, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025. Juddie, the only child of the late Isaiah and Gladys Brewer, was born in LaGrange, Georgia. She grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She graduated from Howard High School in 1939 and the Apex Beauty School in Chicago, IL in 1941. She relocated to Springfield, MA. in 1945, where she had various jobs before eventually finding employment in her field with Ann Grayson Beauty Salon as a beautician. Once she was established and settled, she opened her own Salon in her home at 30 Lebanon Street and called it JU Lee_Tay Beauty Nook.
Juddie worked hard establishing her business and was very active in the community. Passionate about voting, she volunteered and worked at the Old Hill Polling Station faithfully for over 21 years. She is a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, was a member of the Business Women’s Association for over 20 years, Board Member with the Old Hill Neighborhood Association, and member of the Birthday Club.
Juddie loved traveling, visiting many places to include Spain, France, Germany, and Canada.
Juddie was a well respected Businesswoman and Civic Leader in Springfield. She was known for her no nonsense attitude and approach to issues.
Juddie lived a wonderful life full of love, determination, laughter, and great health. She will be truly missed and loved every day of our lives.
Juddie is preceded in death by her husband Hiram Broxton, two sons, Isreal Lewis Jr. of Dover, Delaware, and Anthony Parham of Riverdale, GA, and a grandson, Isreal Lewis III of Portland, Maine.
Juddie is survived by her only daughter, Gladys "Leilani" Hamer of Douglasville, GA, two sons, Jerome (and Janice) Parham of Sugar Hill, GA, and John "Gregory" (and Debra) Parham of Centerville, GA; three granddaughters, Keiawnca (and Henry) Burkes of Chattanooga, TN, Gladys (and Terrance) Tharpe of Indianapolis, IN, and Tiffany (and Marcus) Odom of Yorktown, VA; eight grandsons, Thomas (and Kristen) Craddock of Germantown, MD, James Hamer III of Brooklyn, NY, John (and Kami) Parham II of Lexington KY, Demond (and Somolia) Williams of Springfield, MA, Lyle (and Sabrina) Seymour of Mattapan, MA, Joel Lewis of Dallas, TX, and Jelani Parham and Jamal Parham, both of Anderson, SC; also several great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives, and many lifelong friends.
The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11 with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
