Kamari Lyles Obituary

Kamari Khalil Lyles, 22, transitioned from this life to eternity on May 6, 2021, where he was surrounded by the love and support of his family.

Kamari was born in Springfield, MA, on September 8, 2001, to Misty Williams and Elijah Kareem Lyles.  As a child, he relocated between Columbus, Ohio and his hometown.  He would often joke that he was from Ohio as he was inspired and loved the culture there.  Kamari was known for his quality taste in fashion as well as skateboarding.  He received an education from a number of local schools such as “New Leadership Charter School”, and “High School of Commerce” and joined different programs such as “YSET”.  Ever since a youth he was an active member of “Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church”.  There was always a sense of love that radiated from Kamari as he often cared for his loved ones.  He was a jokester that enjoyed having a fun time and putting smiles on the faces of others.

Kamari is survived by a son, Kayvien Lyles;  partner, Chyna Bedford;  mother, Misty Williams;  father, Elijah Kareem Lyles;  Great Grandmother, Isabell Housten;  siblings, Elijah Burston-Lyles, Kareem Bessone, Jo’nathan Bessone, Nasir Mainor, K’layshia Lyles, Lamiya Whitley, and Brent Whitley III;  a number of Aunts, Claudette Powell (and Delroy), Deborah Hood, and many others;  and a variety of Uncles, Dominique Richardson, Charles Varner, Tyrone McClain (and Cassandra), and a host of other supportive Uncles.  Kamari is survived by many special family members, and friends who will continue to keep his memory alive.

The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church, 797 State Street in Springfield, followed by funeral services at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
