Kenneth “Ken” LaDon Dixon
1952~2026
Kenneth ”Ken” LaDon Dixon, son to the late Clifford J. Thomas and Frances L. Hutchison, was born on Thursday, August 28, 1952, in Springfield, Massachusetts. His parents, and grandparents: Robert A. Dixon and Mattie L. Dixon; brothers: Kelvin Hutchison and Tyrone Hutchison; daughter LaDonya Newton precede him in death.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Technical High School in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1971. In 1972, he joined the United States Army, where he served for many years and had the opportunity to travel around the world. He was a Vietnam Veteran. After his military service, he settled in California, living there for 28 years. He retired from his job at the Embarcadero Center in 2015 and then decided to move back to Springfield.
He was united in matrimony on June 6, 1977, to Gloria J. Davis.
He loved to spend quality time with his family and friends, creating cherished memories together. Music was a big part of his life, with the smooth sounds of the O’Jays and The Temptations often filling the room. He enjoyed watching Steve Harvey Family Feud Show, laughing and bonding over the funny moments. When he wanted some quiet time, he would relax by playing solitaire, finding peace in the challenge of the game. These simple joys brought happiness to his days.
On the morning of July 23, 2026, he told the Lord “I’ve done all I know how and I’m waiting on you”. Our merciful Master came and relieved him of all his earthly problems.
He leaves behind his wife; Gloria J. Dixon of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Shanavika (Terrell) Davis-Jackson of Clarksville, TN; sister, Argolene Hutchison of Vallejo, California; sister-in-law, Carla Hutchison of Concord, North Carolina; grandchildren, Derrick Broughton, Octivia Brookens, Ja’Niyah Perkins, Zariyah Perkins, all of Springfield, MA., Anthony Gray Jr., Raven Gray, Aquantis Saunders, Jamar Carnell, Lamarcus Jackson, Lamarius Jackson, Coreon Jackson all of Clarksville, TN., ten great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, and an honorary special friend Cheryl Davis of Springfield, Massachusetts.
