Kevin J. Marlin Jr.

  Kevin Jay Marlin Jr., 40, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 in Springfield, MA.  Kevin Jay was born on February 12, 1983 in Springfield to Kevin Jay Marlin Sr. and Lisa Ann McLaurin.  

  He was a lifelong Springfield resident, graduated with honors from Roger L. Putnam Vocational High School, attended Springfield Technical Comunity College and graduated from Branford Hall with a degree in HVAC .  He was also a licensed asbestos supervisor.  Kevin Jay had been employed by Charlie Arnet Trucking Company and was most recently employed at Abide Environmental Contracting where he continued asbestos work.

  Kevin was a good conversationalist; with the skill of humor he enjoyed "playing the dozens".  He could also be described as "fashion conscious".  Everyone who knew him well can acknowledge his love of sneakers. He also enjoyed displaying many diverse hairstyles including the wild out of control hairstyle, braids and close cropped haircuts.  

  He was predeceased by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, Vert and Margaret McLaurin and  JB Tobe and Emmo Geanne Marlin respectively and his father Kevin Jay Marlin Sr.
 He held the title of  " oldest grandchild on the maternal side of the family".  Kevin was a Christian. He came from a family that laid a solid foundation.  Like most children he had his peaks and valleys but most of all Kevin loved his family and friends.  He will forever be remembered as having  touched many people's lives in his special way. Kevin Jay is survived by his beloved mother Lisa Ann McLaurin, his special friend Val Marie Savage and many other family and friends who will always cherish his memory.

There will be a public viewing at Harrell Funeral Home, Thursday 10-11:30 followed by a funeral at 11:30.
