Kizzie Pearl Brown Everett Sunrise: April 22, 1939 Sunset: August 2, 2025
Kizzie Pearl Brown Everett transitioned peacefully to be with her ancestors on Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by the loving company of her family.
Born in Riegelwood, North Carolina as the eldest child to the late Miles Brown and Annie Mae Moore Brown, Kizzie graduated from high school in her hometown before journeying to Philadelphia with her husband. Eventually, she settled in Springfield, Massachusetts with her two sons to be closer to her siblings—a move that marked the beginning of a life rooted in love, resilience, and quiet strength.
Kizzie was a masterful fisherwoman, a gifted baker, and found joy in the art of crocheting and growing her seasonal peppers and tomatoes. Her hands were always busy creating comfort, whether through her crafts or her care.
She dedicated her entire career to serving others as a third-shift nursing assistant at Municipal Hospital, retiring after decades of compassionate service. Though she worked through the night, her home was always open—becoming a haven for children after school and a place of warmth for family and friends. Her greatest treasures were her two sons, her grandchildren, and the family she nurtured with unwavering love.
Kizzie was a quiet and simple woman, yet her soul radiated strength and tenderness. She lived with grace, gave without condition, and loved without bounds.
She was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Roland Brown, Lenwood “Chubby” Brown, Miles “Junebug” Brown, William “Joe” Brown, Mary “Carol” Williams, and Frances Threat.
Kizzie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories through her two sons: Julian (Tanya) and James (Ethel); seven grandchildren: Devon, Janelle, Dyonndra, Jenise, Dara, Jayla, and Coreese; eleven great-grandchildren; her brother Frankie Brown; brother-in-law Robert Threat; her beloved cousin and housemate Minnie Brown; her faithful dog Beans; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Her spirit lives on in every life she touched, every meal she prepared, every child she cared for, and every quiet moment of love she gave so freely.
The calling hour is from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at noon, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
