Leola F. Little, 80, of Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, surrounded by her children.
Born in Morven, North Carolina, on March 27, 1942, and raised in Cheraw, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late McClendon Little Sr. and the late Leola (Patrick) Little. She moved to Springfield, where she resided for over sixty years.
Leola attended Springfield Public Schools and received her diploma. She has also received certifications in sewing, upholstery, and as a certified nursing assistant. She worked over thirty years as a certified nursing assistant in various nursing facilities and hospitals.
Leola was a generous, supportive, fun-loving, no-nonsense woman. She was also very protective over her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her cups of hot tea and her Pepsi, along with something sweet. She always had a sweet tooth! Her favorite pastimes included sewing, attending church, listening to and singing gospel, gardening, talking on the phone, going for walks, and watching Family Feud, Court TV, and talk shows.
Leola is pre-deceased by four brothers, James Little, Wilbert Little, McClendon Little Jr., and Robert Little; two sisters, Hattie West, and Ethel Little. She is survived by four children, Kenneth Little (and wife, Charlene), Raymond Little, and Sheronda Little, all of Springfield and Michael Little (and wife, Lynn) of Chesterfield, Virginia; four sisters, Alberta Williams, Ida Patterson, and Evelma Barnes (and husband, Steve), all of Springfield and Isabell Pinckney (and husbnd, William) of Plainfield, New Jersey; one brother, Charlie Little (and wife, Donna) of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends to cherish her memory.
The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Macedonia C.O.G.I.C., 233 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.
