It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Leon “June” Dyer Jr., 65, on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Laurel, Maryland.
Leon was born and educated in Springfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from the former Springfield Technical High School and later relocated to Maryland, where he worked for Sells-Floto Company for many years and later Bob’s Transport and Storage Company, followed by Suddah Van Lines Inc.
He is survived by his beloved father, Leon Dyer Sr.; a brother, Kenneth Dyer; five sisters, Mary Warren, Jereliene Brown, Debra Lewis, Barbara Dyer, and Monica Hayles; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Leon was pre-deceased by his mother, Marion (Burgess) Dyer and a brother, Clarence Dyer.
The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Friday at Whole Truth Temple Church Of God In Christ, 8 Norfolk Street, Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
