Leonard Copeland, 81, of Spruce Street, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2021, at home, surrounded by loving family. Born in Flint, MI, he was the son of Aaron Copeland and Okalouise (Williams) Copeland. Leonard moved to Springfield, MA 55 years ago. He had been employed for many years by Amerbelle of CT as a machinist, retiring in 2001. He also worked as a security guard at The Children's Study Home. His legacy includes six beloved children, Lenore Copeland Garrett of Nashville, TN, Lorinda Shepard of Huntsville, AL, Michelle Capdeville of Brooks, GA, Billie Jo Warrick and Lenise Tucker, both of Springfield, and Reme Bland of Kennesaw, GA; two sisters, Catherine Britt and Brenda Floyd, both of Flint, MI; two step-children, Sally Haynes of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Willie Bland of Kennesaw, GA; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The public walk-thru visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Fresh Annointing Ministries C.O.G.I.C., 961 St. James Ave. Funeral services will be private.
