Leroy Daniels Obituary

SSgt. Leroy Zachary Daniels Jr., 59, of Paulk Ter., departed this life on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center.  Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was a son of Jessie (Sorrell) Daniels and the late Leroy Z. Daniels Jr.  A retired 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a senior power generating equipment repairer.  He had also worked for SuperValu, Northrop Grumman, and Walley Computer Associates.  Mr. Daniels was a member of St. John’s Congregational Church.  Known as “Mr. Fixit”, he enjoyed computers and automotive repair.  He was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Celtics fan.  Pre-deceased by his father, a son, Leroy Daniels “Jr.”, and a brother, Angelo Daniels, Leroy is survived by his wife, Judy (Davis) Daniels of Springfield;  his mother, Jessie Daniels of Springfield;  a son, Shawn Daniels of Feeding Hills, MA;  two daughters, Tamara Daniels of Covington, GA and Keisha Daniels of Indian Orchard, MA;  three brothers, Gregory Daniels, Keith Daniels, and Matthew Gollman, all of Springfield;  five sisters, Barbara Daniels, Mildred Denson, Carolyn Mullens, and Suhaiyla Abdul-Hakim, all of Springfield, and Patricia Jones of Detroit, MI;  ten grandchildren;  and a host of other relatives.  The calling hours are 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Congregational Church, 45 Hancock St., Springfield, followed by the funeral service at 11:30, with burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
