Mark Brian Leak went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2026. He was born to the late Wyatt & Christine (Perry) Leak, Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Springfield, MA.
Mark was educated in Springfield Public Schools and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. He also attended American International College and Springfield Technical Community College.
Mark loved the Lord and was a longtime member of the Solid Rock Community Baptist Church where he served as a choir member in the Male Ensemble & Solid Rock Mass Choir.
Mark had a deep love for music. He has been a DJ at various college radio stations in the area including 90.7 FM WTCC. In the 1990s, he was known by his DJ name “DJ Grand Markie” where he played R&B & Hip Hop music and then later transitioned to playing Gospel music and being known by his DJ name, “Mark Brian”.
Mark was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He also enjoyed watching the WWF/WWE. Through his love for sports, he was a longtime sportscaster at WEEI 105.5 FM Sports Radio.
Mark was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Eleanor M. Leak, his nephew, Christopher L. Griffin, and great-nephew, Anthony R. Hardy. He leaves his brothers, Wyatt Leak, Jr., David R. Leak & Pastor Larry A. (Elder Deborah J.) Leak, his sisters, Carol A. (Bishop Curtis L.) Shaird & Priscilla M. (Junior) Reid, 2 god-sisters, Min. Mary K. Shaird & Monica A. Shaird, and a host of nieces, nephews & cousins to cherish his memory.
The Homegoing Celebration will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Solid Rock Community Baptist Church, 821 Liberty Street, Springfield, MA. The Calling Hour will begin at 10:00 AM followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M
