Mary L. Barnett

Mary Lou (Hines) Barnett, 98, of Springfield., departed this life on Sunday, August 9, 2020.  Born in Rome, GA, she was a daughter of Joseph Fisher Hines and Mattie Louise (Rone) Hines and was the widow of Edward Barnett Sr.  She had been employed as an LPN at Wesson Memorial Hospital.  A longtime member of Martin Luther King Jr. Presbyterian Church, she served as a Mother of the Church, and a Deacon, and a Cluster Leader, also participating in the Women of Valor Committee, and Vacation Bible School.  She is survived by two sons, Edward Barnett Jr. of NYC and Rex Allen Barnett of Atlanta, GA and a grandson, Calvin Terrell Barnett of NYC.  The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
