Mother Mary V. Jackson, 92, of 34 Elsie Street, Springfield, MA, transitioned to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at her residence. She was born the thirteenth child of the late Samuel and Dora (Riggins) Warrick in Baxley, GA. Mary received her early education in Baxley before relocating to Springfield, MA, where she furthered her education and began her long and fulfilling career in healthcare, ultimately retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Mary was a devoted member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Hartford, CT, for over 44 years. She faithfully served in many capacities, including the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, the Pastor’s Appreciation Committee, Women’s Ministry, and as President of the Mother’s Ministry. Known affectionately as Mother Jackson, Aunt Joe, Ms. Mary, and Grandma, she touched many lives with her love and devotion. Her Christian journey was one of deep faith and commitment. She was known for her strength, compassion, and unwavering belief in God. She loved her Pastor, the Late Dr. Richard L. Nash and First Lady Mary Nash, as well as her Church Family.
A lover of family, Mary found joy in spending time with her loved ones. She was an exceptional cook and baker, known for her delicious meals, famous pound cakes, and sweet potato pies. She took great pleasure in gathering everyone around her table to enjoy good food, laughter, and fellowship. Her radiant smile and warm heart made her a beacon of love in the lives of those around her.

Her legacy will live on through her daughter, Cynthia Johnson, of Springfield, MA; her grandchildren, Allen Johnson, Trayvon Walker, and Ty-on Williams, all of Springfield, MA; three great-grands, Allen Jr., Trayvon Jr., and Samariya. She leaves behind a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and god-children, along with her church family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
