Michelle R. Hill

  Michelle Rena Hill, 64, of West Springfield, departed this life on August 10, 2026, at Agawam North Rehab and Nursing in Agawam, Ma, surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Springfield, MA, to Joe Henry Hill and Clara Piccola Hill.

  Michelle was a graduate of Putnam Vocational School. She attended Holyoke Community College and Bay Path University. She was a dedicated worker at Walmart in Hadley, MA. She was previously employed for many years at Baystate Medical Center as a Radiation Technician. Beyond her professional achievements, Michelle was a woman of many passions. In her free time, Michelle enjoyed listening to music, traveling, bowling, reading, dancing, and most importantly, spending time with family. She was intentional in making sure she carved out numerous special occasions with her family, including visits to the African-American National Museum, Hartford, Springfield Jazz Festivals, and other local venues. She enjoyed family celebrations and often shared her joyous spirit through dancing and her infectious laughter.

  More than anything, Michelle was devoted to her family and friends. She cherished her relationships and was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support to those who needed her. Michelle leaves behind a loving family of siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  She is survived by siblings Freddie Joe Hill (Gail), Vivian Hill, Phyllis Avery (Greg), Josephine Hill, and Jeffery Hill. A host of nieces and nephews, including Chericka Hill (Ulysseus), Lanetta Siles (Sean), and Rev. Dr. Anthony C. Hill (Renay), and many dear cousins, friends, co-workers, and loved ones. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Joe and Clara P. Hill; brothers Raymond Hill, Amos Hill and sisters Loretta Hill and Hallie Hill.

  Michelle loved the Lord and took great comfort in reading inspirational scriptures and listening to uplifting songs and readings. She will be remembered for her carefree spirit and her love for family, fun, fellowship, and dancing.

The service will be held at Canaan Baptist Church of Christ on Friday, August 21st. The wake will begin at 10:00 am with the funeral following at 11 a.m.
