Omega Harris

   Omega “Buster” Harris transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

  He was born on October 27, 1956, in Fort Polk, Louisiana.  A son of the late Sgt. Mickey E. Harris Sr. and the late Anne (Kennedy) Harris, Buster was quiet and reserved by nature.  He was a product of the Blunt Park Athletic Association and the Springfield Public School System.  He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and his Master of Computer Science and Technology from the University of Denver.

  Buster enjoyed a diverse and accomplished career.  He retired from AT&T, was a licensed realtor, property appraiser, and longtime substitute teacher with the Springfield Public School System.  An avid sports enthusiast, he also loved watching Western television shows.

  Buster is survived by his three daughters, Tahisha Scott, Jocelyn Murchison, and Megan Walker (Stephen), all of Atlanta, GA;  and three grandsons, Christopher, Omaree, and Stephen II.  He also leaves to cherish his memory, his four siblings: Linda Narcisse (the late Floyd) of Deltona, Florida, and Mickey E. Harris Jr., Delphine Harris, and Sheila Harris, all of Springfield, MA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and special friends.

Omega “Buster” Harris leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, perseverance, and compassion that will live on through all who knew and loved him.

Buster;  Brother, Daddy, Uncle, and Friend;  we love you but God loves you more.

The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Presbyterian Church, 22 Concord Terrace, Springfield, MA, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
