Otis Porter Obituary

Otis Lee Williams Porter Sr. 70, formerly of Bear Mountain at West Springfield, departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Washington, PA he was the son of the late Marshall Williams and the late Annah (Lipscomb) Williams.  He became a resident in 1974 moving from Pittsburgh, PA.  He worked as a commercial roofer for Chandler Roofing until he retired.  Otis' legacy includes his former wife the late Vera Hallums and former wife Kelly Porter; his sons Otis Lee Porter, Jr. (and wife Judith C. Porter), Tyraun Russell Porter (and wife Jamie Porter ); daughters Oletha Kinyada Porter Wells and Kimeeko Pratt (husband Robert Pratt); a step-daughter Lisa Hallums (and husband Otis Gaynor),  a step-son Hamid Hallums; two brothers Maris and Maurice Chandler and two sisters Edna Hester and Harriett Jenkins;  a brother- in-law Leroy Fisher and a  sister-in-law Arlene Hallums; many treasured grandchildren:Rahim, Amanda, Dominique, Tyson, Legaci, Alexus, Adonis, Malachi, Raiden, Seamus, Nyla, Abdias, Zipporah, Jetta, Syracuse, Aneysia Lee, Nyesha, Pedro, Michael, Natoya, Alex and Larry; and great-grandchildren including Alissa and Alexander Green.  In addition to his first wife Vera Hallums, he was predeceased by four brothers Robert Porter, Henry Webb, Zach William Porter and Isaiah Porter, two sisters Ella Williamson and Henrietta Webb; a daughter Dashaunne Porter, a step-daughter Aretha Hallums and grandson Carlos.    Otis was also loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  There will be a calling hour on Thursday, Nov. 5th at Harrell Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at noon to honor a life well lived and a person well loved.
