Pastor Ruth Pearl Cummings, 80, of Myrtle Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Kensett, Arkansas, she was a daughter of Chester Cummings and Mary (Rice) Bowens. A 60-year Springfield resident, she worked for Kelly Services. She was the Pastor of Holy Communion Church, and was Sunday School Superintendent of Lighthouse C.O.G.I.C. She very much enjoyed singing. Pre-deceased by her parents and a son, Benjamin Bowens, she is survived by two sons, Robert Cummings and Artis Cummings; a daughter, Zorlett Bowens; a brother, Chester Cummings; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Lighthouse C.O.G.I.C., 201 King St., followed by the funeral at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
