Robert Crapps Obituary

Robert Crapps, 64, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 26, 2020 in Hampton, Virginia.  Born on March 4, 1956 in Shellman, Georgia to the late Jesse and Mertha D. (Jenkins) Crapps.  He attended school in Shellman, GA until he relocated with his family to Springfield, Massachusetts in the 1970's and then attended Springfield public schools.  Robert was an avid sports fan.  He enjoyed watching all sports.  During the 1980's,  he played softball for a local league "Hubba Bubba.  "  His most favorite pastime was fishing, both fresh and saltwater fishing and he would spend countless hours enjoying the sport.

Robert loved his family and was always accessible whenever anyone needed him.  He will be missed by all who knew him including his life partner Yvonne Wilson who he relocated to Hampton, Virginia to be with.  He also leaves a brother Leroy Crapps and and his aunts Melvine Alexander  and Pearlie Mae Jenkins both of Springfield, Ma., and  Vera Green of Albany, GA; his cousins Eva Mae Crapps and Vera Crapps Barney who were more like sisters to him, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to cherish his memories.  He was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters: Jesse Jr., Willie Albert, Jimmy, Willie C., James A., Willie Fran, Cedric, Louise, Corrine, Elouise and Delores.  There will be a "rolling" wake on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Harrell Funeral Home. Masks and social distancing are required.
