Robert Earl Murchison Jr., 35, of Enfield, Connecticut, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Born in Springfield, Robert was a lifelong resident of the area and worked as an outreach coordinator. He had a passion for sports and dedicated much of his life to mentoring young people. He coached the Springfield Tigers, Ragin Bulls, and 5A Bulldogs, participated in bowling and pool leagues, and was an active member of the Men of Endurance at the Carew Street Boys & Girls Club and the Men of Springfield High School Hall of Fame. Robert remained a constant source of guidance and encouragement to the many young men whose lives he touched over the years.
He was predeceased by his mother, Sheila (Drummer) Murchison, and his brother, Corey D. Drummer. He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Robert Murchison Sr.; his sisters, Romesia T. Drummer and Nikita M. Drummer; his six nieces and nephews, Zoe, Armani, Aubriella, Tyquan, Daniel, and Jeremiah; and his beloved dogs, Promise, Patience, and Cheeks.
Family and friends are invited to a calling hour from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Deliverance Center Ministries C.O.G.I.C., 336 Springfield Street, Springfield, MA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
