Rodney Jermerl McCants passed away suddenly on July 14, 2022. Rodney was born in Springfield, Ma on November 19, 1967. He is the only son to Etta Brice and his two amazing fathers Jimmie Wilson II and John Brice.
Rodney was a student of Springfield public schools. He took a course at Springfield Technical Community College and Colorall, where he received his certification as a Master Painter. He painted cars on the Nascar Circut, and for car shows on the West Coast. Rodney was an avid music connoisseur and pioneer. He was a famous DJ in the Springfield area in the 1980's and beyond, known to all as "Master Blast" a founding member of The Crash Boys.
Mr. McCants is survived by so many people who loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Etta Brice; Grandmother Ruth McCants, his two fathers, Jimmie Lee Wilson II and John Brice, his wife and mother of his children; Carmen Cuffee, their children: Rodney's first child Jamera McCants and her children: Jayla Fisher, Cy'ana Fisher, Bella Fisher, Cyril Fisher, Jr., Novah Fisher, and Santana Fisher. His only son, Rodney Marcus McCants, and his children Layla McCants, Nyah McCants, Love McCants, and Kali McCants. His daughter London Brown (McCants), and her children Timothy Brown and Roan Brown. His daughter Cassandra Cuffee and her children Breasia Mitchell, Zhymere Patterson, and Amera Harris; along with Rodney's great-grandson, Noah Hill. Rodney's youngest daughter is Kaleah Dayton McCants.
"Rod" was a cherished and beloved brother to: Jimmie Lee Wilson III, Lori Ann Johnson, Treg Wilson (wife Rita), Tonya Evette Wilson, Atlantis Price, Kenta Tige Wilson, Toy Mann, Dael Starks, Robert Keitt (wife Kathy), Cuiee Masters, and Aveour Masters. Because he was such and awesome person, he was an honorary brother to many, blood related or not. He was also a loving and amazing uncle and great-uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
He was the nephew of: Maxine Brown, Barbara Wilson, Joyce Wilson, Martha Webster, Joyce Brice, Sharon Brice, and Louise Brice. His uncles are Charles Wilson, Eugene Brice, Bruce Brice, and Gregory Brice.
The funeral service for Rodney is scheduled for 10am on July 29, 2022
