Sallie Williams, 83, of 100 Westford, Circle, Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Day Brook Village in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
Born on June 12, 1935, in Laurinburg, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Danny Hugh McNair and the late Ever L. Cotton. Sallie lived in Springfield for sixty-six years and worked as a LPN in the Weldon Rehabilitation Center of Mercy Medical Center. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she sang in the Lawrence A. Bagwell Chorale and served with the Mt. Calvary Nurses.
Pre-deceased by her daughter, Cherie Lynn Williams-Brown, she is survived by her husband, Edward Williams of Springfield; five sisters, Maggi Henderson of Fairfax, South Carolina, and Minnie Douglas, Betty McNair, Sylvia McNair, and Virginia Manning, all of Laurinburg; a brother, Jerome McNair of Springfield; a son-in-law, Benjamin Brown of Springfield; two grandchildren, Torry Brown and Tiffany Brown; five great-grandchildren, Anton Brown, Jayden brown, Tori Christina Brown, Josiah Brown, and Somiea Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends. The calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Harrell Funeral Home.
Funeral services and burial will be in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
