Sammie Smith

  Sammie L. Smith, 73, of Ludlow, MA, departed this life on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center.

  Born in Stephens, GA, he was a son of Lorraine Smith.  He had been employed as a truck driver in the construction industry and was a member of Holy Trinity Church Of God In Christ.  Pre-deceased by his mother, his wife, Cinda F. Smith, and a sister, Dorothy Wallace, Sammie is survived by two children, Kevin L. Smith and Maya Tucker;  nine grandchildren, Jerron, Sharell, Savon, Kyle, Ke’Vonna, Mekhi, Kaleb, Kaiden, Kallen, EJ, and Evan;  eight great-grandchildren;  and a host of other relatives and friends.

  The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Holy Trinity Church Of God In Christ, 57 Bay Street, Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.
