It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Shelly Randolph, age 62, on March 5, 2025, at home with her brother Darryl by her side. Shelly was the daughter of the late Inez Green and Ronald Randolph. She was born and raised in Springfield, MA.
Shelly graduated from Commerce High School in Springfield and then moved to Virginia to attend Virginia State University and Howard University. She subsequently started her career as a Medical Assistant working in various medical practices. Shelly later returned to college and earned a B.A. in Biblical & Theological Studies from Regent University.
Most of Shelly’s adult life was spent living in the D.C./Maryland/Virginia (the DMV) area. She grew in her faith and endeavored to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a young woman she attended the Maranatha Church of D.C. and was a devoted member of the praise & worship team, worked in the children’s nursery and worked as a campus evangelist at Howard University. Shelly next attended Full Gospel Church in Maryland where she played a large role in the Outreach Ministry in Washington, D.C. When Shelly moved to Virginia, she became a member of Word of Life Church and continued to use her talents in the church choir, the prayer ministry, and the mentoring ministry. Before returning to Massachusetts, Shelly was a member of Everlasting Life Christian Center in Maryland serving as the Events Coordinator and a member of the church choir and outreach team.
Shelly leaves behind her three siblings to cherish her memories, Ronald Randolph, Darryl Randolph and Yvette Johnson (Benjamin Sr.). She is also survived by several aunts and uncles, many cousins and a host of dear friends.
The family sends a heartfelt thank you to the Hospice Home Health Care and especially Shelly’s caregiver, Sarah, who cared for their sister over the last two and a half years.
The calling hour will be from 10 -11 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Harrell Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. The interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
