Sherry Delores (Ferguson) Foley,76 of Jonesboro Georgia passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024 surrounded by her beloved brothers, sisters, children and grandchildren who will continue to honor her legacy. Sherry was a remarkable wife and mother who maintained her grace, compassion, appreciation and love of her family and friends. Sherry was a resident of Springfield, MA for several years before relocating to Georgia.
After graduating from Springfield Technical Community College with an Associates Degree, majoring in Gerontology. She began her career as a passionate and vocal advocate for mental health as she worked for over 20 years as a caseworker caring for the elderly and disabled.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Sherry. She had an adventurous spirit and loved long day trips discovering new areas, always enjoying conversations with the locals and patronizing the local boutiques and shops.
She is survived by husband, Taft Foley, Sr.; Sonya Murphy, Taft (Tiye) Foley, Jr., Virginia Foley, Mikel (Shimikah) Foley, Sion Foley, and Dustin Ferguson; grandchildren, Tyrell Foley, Ashley (Jake) Diaz, Alexandria (Dennis) Schon, Shaleigha Shepard, Demetria Feaster, Sheri Foley, Aliyah Murphy, Brianna , Taft Foley, III, Jerell, Alysiona, Jessie, Noraa, Alianna, Jovan, Elaina, and Olivia; siblings, Rhea Scruggs, Sr., Linda Jo Allen, William (Robin) Ferguson, LC Ferguson, Pamel’ia Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Amir, Italy, Kylie, Logan, Leo, Luke, Letti, Leeland, Wynter, Kamarii and Chance ; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration Service honoring the Life and Essence of Mrs. Sherry Delores Foley of Jonesboro, Georgia will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Home Chapel, 8968 Fayetteville Road, Jonesboro, Georgia; Bishop Albert J. Lindsey, Jr., Officiant and Eulogist. Interment will be held privately.
