Sonia A. Mitchell

 Sonia Angela Mitchell, 62 of Brooklyn, New York passed away from this life on July 26, 2021 at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn.  Born in Portland, Jamaica, Sonia emigrated to the U.S. New York area 30 years ago and had been employed as a Nurse's Assistant here. She was the daughter of Harold Augustus Mitchell and Stephanie Delcita Mitchell. 

 Sonia found joy and enrichment in her work by helping others.  She also enjoyed shopping and watching movies. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Marsha Burgess of Springfield, MA, two brothers Milton Mitchell and Isaac Mitchell both of Jamaica, her sisters Norma Mitchell Parkes of Florida, Beverly Mitchell of Jamaica, Deloris Mitchell and Claudette Blake both of England, Jacqueline Blake and Winsome Mitchell  also of Jamaica and her beloved granddaughter Abbygail Thompson of Springfield, MA as well as  many other extended family and friends. 

The calling hour is Friday ,10-11 a.m. at Harrell Funeral Home followed by the funeral at 11:00. Burial will be at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
