Steven Lee Wilson, 66, a lifelong resident of Springfield, MA, departed this life on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. He attended local schools in the area and enjoyed playing tennis and basketball in his youth. Steven retired in 2024 from Friendly’s Ice Cream Corporation after 42 years of service.
Pre-deceased by his parents, Lee Wilson Jr. and Anna Mae (Haygood) Wilson, Steven leaves several people to cherish his memory: his two younger brothers, Anthony Wilson (Jean Wilson) and Lee Wilson (Dae1 Starks-Wilson); Ms. Charla Ray Charles and their children, Nathaniel L. Wilson, Terrence L. Wilson, Krystle T. Wilson, and Jasmin R. Wilson; Ms. Cynthia Moore-Wilson and Steven’s step-son, Darien Williams II; his beautiful grandchildren, Tyrice Wilson, Jordan Wilson, Ava Wilson, Josiah Wilson, Melvin D. Williams III, and Aniyahlyse Wilson; his great-granddaughter; along with several nieces and nephews.
Steven loved to fish! He enjoyed going out on the water with his fishing buddies, Lee “Riverhawk” Turner, Saroeun Ton, and a host of like-minded fishermen. Mr. Wilson loved to cook on the grill, listen to jazz music, and spend time with his family and friends. He loved to watch sports, especially his favorite NFL and NBA teams, the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia 76ers. Steven Wilson was a kindhearted soul who touched the heart of many. He will be missed by all of the people he encountered.
A calling hour will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Harrell Funeral Home.
