Tonya Milette Hayes transitioned into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ and the waiting arms of her older brother Erick, on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on March 8, 1972, in Holyoke, MA, to the late John H. Hayes and Sylvia M. (Moye) Jordan.
Tonya lived in North Carolina for many years and worked at various day care centers. She worshipped at Markham Chapel Baptist Church while in North Carolina. When she returned to Springfield, she worked at Commonwealth Health Alliance for a while and at various Day Care facilities including Early Childhood Center. "Tonya's laughter always made me smile", said her Mother "and I will always miss my daughter." She was known by some cousins as "The Diva" because her hair and nails were always done and she was always willing to pose for pictures. Tonya was predeceased by her father John H. Hayes. In 2008, Tonya's beloved oldest brother Erick also passed away. She never got over that loss.
She leaves to mourn her passing her two sons, TA'Quawn Daniels of Atlanta, GA and Ja'Heim Hayes of Springfield; a daughter, Denniya Carrington of Springfield; her mother, Sylvia M.
