Vanessa J. Mix

  Vanessa Jean Mix, 70, of Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.  Born in Springfield she was a daughter of the late William Mix and the late Dorothy (Corbin) Mix.  Vanessa had been employed as an underwriter by Travelers Insurance Co.  A communicant of St. Michael’s Cathedral, she enjoyed reading and collecting elephants.

  Pre-deceased by a brother, Christopher A. Mix, she is survived by a son, Anthony Gomes of Greenville, South Carolina, a daughter, Korie N. Johnson of Springfield;  a sister, Renee D. Mix of Springfield;  and three grandchildren, Brianna D. McDowell, Brandelin M. McDowell, and John McDowell. 

The calling hour is 10-10:30 a.m. Friday at Harrell Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 10:30 with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
