Vicki M. Self

  Vicki Maria (Owens) Self, 66, of Springfield, departed this life on Thursday, August 29, 2024. 

  She was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, a daughter of William Owens and Freddie (Moye) Owens.  After graduating from high school, Vicki incorporated her fondness for the elderly with her love of caring for others by working at area nursing homes as a CNA.  She was also an elephant collector. 

  Pre-deceased by her husband, William Self, and her father, William Owens, Vicki leaves her mother, Freddie Owens;  a son, Garrette A.L. Owens;  a daughter, Kissa T.L. Owens;  six brothers, Kenny Owens, Calvin Owens, Victor Owens, Robert Owens, Robbie Owens, and Darren Owens;  two sisters, Karen Owens and Rhonda Parker;  six grandchildren, Zay-Cuam Kelly, DeLano Walker Jr. (deceased), Tyoshia Owens-Walker, Da'Din Davis, Rae Kwon Davis, and Martin Davis III;  and a great-grandchild, Nori Rosemond;  and a great-cousin, Denniya Carrington.

The visiting hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Harrell Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11 with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
