Woodrow J Ward

Woodrow Jesse Ward, 81, of 123 Bowles Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, he was a longtime resident of Springfield and retired as a construction consultant.  He and his wife were the pillars of the family and were loved by family and by the community.  He volunteered his time and resources to many causes in the community and was a coach, mentor and role model to many. His beloved wife, Joyce Elaine (Neal) Ward passed away five weeks earlier, on May 1, 2018.  Pre-deceased by a sister, Annie Thomas, he is survived by four children, Ricky Ward (and Johnetta), Tyrone Ward (and Leona), Donald Ward (and Nicole), and Tonya Ward (and Michael Anderson);  a brother, Elijah Ward;  eleven grandchildren;  two great-grandchildren;  a host of other relatives;  and many friends.
